Pro-Am Impuls-Workshops
Matthias Schorn offers workshops for amateur musicians as a soloist or together with his border crossing band „Faltenradio“. His aim is a playful, holistic approach to making music and at the same time to rediscover the secret and often hidden joy of trying something creative. He offers a one-to-one lesson, group lessons, consultation in various materials, improvisation, consultation in literature, playful learning. Every level of musical education is welcome.

Many roads lead to Rome… How Matthias Schorn found his way as solo clarinet player from Salzburg into the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, probably the most famous orchestra around the globe, how he faced the ups and downs of his life and which experiences he made - all of that is part of his lecture. “There is not the one and only right path in life. Biography

Matthias Schorn is an all-round musician with boundless interest into everything creative in music. His position as solo clarinet player with the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra offers him the opportunity to cooperate with the finest singers and conductors of our time.
As chamber musician he founded various classical formations like the „Trio Marc Chagall“ and the „Theophil Ensemble Vienna“. As soloist he worked with Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Michael Sanderling, Ivan Fischer, Hans Graf, Dennis Russel Davies, to mention just a few.
He is deeply rooted in the Alpine Folk – and Brass – Music which still leaves a deep impression on his work. His bands „MaChlast“ and „Faltenradio“ play  at pubs, Open-Air-Festivals and Clubs as well as at famous Concert Halls between Vienna and Hamburg. As founder of Festivals („Palm Klang“) and manager of a recording studio („Bergsiedlung 113“) Schorn found further activities to foster his creativity. Additionally he teaches at the “Private University of Music and Art“ in Vienna and gives master courses all over the world.
Cooperations with celebrities like Karl Heinz Hackl, Annette Dasch, Daniel Hope, Benjamin Schmid, Thomas Gansch, Bob Mintzer, Georg Breinschmid, Willi Resetarits, Sky du Mont, Armin Müller-Stahl, Shantel, Peter Simonischek, Christoph Eschenbach, Konstantin Wecker and Julia Stemberger are ample proof of his never ending thirst for new creative experiences and encounters in music.
Matthias Schorn lives in Lower Austria with his wife Daniela, she is professor of musical education and music therapy as well as music kinesiology. In his sparetime he attempts a hobby career as a beekeeper and market gardener.
